Optimizing Electric Vehicle Integration with Renewable Energy through Advanced Energy Management Systems
The growth of electric vehicles (EVs) places a demand for efficient systems of energy management to enable proper integration with renewable energy resources. Current systems are poorly equipped to extract solar power for charging and to ensure one-way energy flows from cars to the grid and back (V2G and G2V). For instance, problems arise regarding the conversion of energy at charging and discharge times, which leads to energy loss and decreased battery operation. An advanced energy system with solar harvesting energy, a DC-DC converter, and MPPT algorithms allows for seamless energy transfer between the source and consumer sides. A dedicated controller controls and manages the energy levels with a charging cycle and allows vehicle-to-grid services to help improve energy efficiency while lowering costs and prolonging the life of the batteries by ensuring grid stability. This solution aims to establish an ecosystem of sustainable energy and supports a greener, more resilient energy infrastructure by maximising the use of renewable energy and promoting EV-grid integration.
