Design and Development of Hand Exoskeleton for Elbow Rehabilitation Using IMU Sensors
This paper describes a new upper-limb exoskeleton designed for rehabilitation purpose targeted at enhancing the Sports-related injuries or Total Elbow Arthroplasty or other kinesiology-related disorders. The exoskeleton uses advanced IMU sensors to track the bio-signals, such as finger movement. The adaptive control algorithms of the system ensure that motions are tailored to the user's rehabilitation needs, fostering sensorimotor rehabilitation and improving motor coordination. Real-time data analytics technique is used to optimize the therapy process and adjust interventions based on patient progress. The exoskeleton is designed for ease of use and patient comfort, supporting functional independence and accelerating recovery by facilitating motor memory and improving joint mobility. This work proves the great possibility of combining robot-assisted therapy and wearable technology for rehabilitation in upper limb paralysis by offering an approach for patients with neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
