Dual-Axis Independent Mode-Locked, All-Polarization-Maintaining Femtosecond Laser
We have experimentally observed dual-axis independent mode-locked, dispersion-management femtosecond pulse in an all-polarization-maintaining fiber laser. We obtain 263 and 310 fs pulse output respectively on two orthogonal axes. Artful structural design ensures that the two orthogonal axes share the same locking device while having very low energy coupling. What’s more, our experiment indicates that the two orthogonal axes could work independently and have no effect on each other when work simultaneously. Owing to the all-polarization-maintaining structure, this laser possesses high environmental stability, and could be widely applied in optical frequency comb and beat frequency system.
