The Study of Q-Switched-Modulation Instability in Spatiotemporal Mode-Locked Fiber Lasers
In this paper, the dynamics of Q-switching-modulation instability (QS-MI) and mode locking (ML) coexistence is explored in spatiotemporal mode-locked fiber lasers (STML-FLs). By transverse spatial hole-burning effect, gain competition is alleviated, thereby allowing for coexistence. Additionally, the transition process from QS-MI-ML to noise-like pulse (NLP) to ML is experimentally observed. The pivotal role of mode competition in state transitions is analyzed, considering the varying of dominant modes. Our study offers new insights into transverse spatial hole-burning effects and mode competition in STML-FLs.
