Methodology for working on impersonal sentences when studying syntactic features of the scientific style of speech by Kazakh students

At Russian language classes Kazakh students work on the language of their specialty, sharpen the scientific style of speech. One of the topics is the study of syntactic features of scientific style of speech, where impersonal sentences occupy an important place among one-joint sentences. In the course of the research we applied general scientific methods, but the main approach was structural, which according to the ways of predicate expression allowed us to distinguish impersonal sentences from other one-, two- and synonymous sentences. Linguistic and extra-linguistic factors negatively influencing the students' mastering of this topic were revealed. Separate classifications of impersonal sentences, developed both in the traditional and new format, elaborated in detail, extended, were considered. When teaching Kazakh students, we focused on P.A. Lecant's classification of impersonal sentences presented in the textbook “Modern Russian Language. Syntax” (2007). Impersonal sentences were extracted from the textbook on physics by the method of continuous sampling, which allowed us to identify more and less frequent models in the composition of impersonal sentences. To master the grammar of impersonal sentences, students were offered exercises of instructional character, including exercises for independent performance with the support of samples, exercises on synonymy of impersonal sentences and other one-joint sentences. The practical value of the work consists in the fact that the article proposes a methodology of work on impersonal sentences in the training of Kazakh students who study in the field of physics and mathematics. We hope that the methodical development will be useful and informative first of all for young practicing teachers, who will be able to get acquainted with new classifications in the theory of impersonality. The authors conclude that when studying syntactic features of the scientific style, teachers should hold additional classes to help students, which will undoubtedly give positive results.

Impersonal sentences were extracted from the textbook on physics by the method of continuous sampling, which allowed us to identify more and less frequent models in the composition of impersonal sentences.
