Leonid Tsypkin's short prose: the poetics of intertextual dispersion
The article is devoted to the analysis of the stylistic manner of one of the little-studied, but significant postmodernist writers – Leonid Tsypkin. Most of the texts that belong to him were created in the 1970s – 1980s. Leonid Tsypkin is known abroad as the author of the shot story “Summer in Baden-Baden”. This text is based on the biographical story of F.M. Dostoevsky about his difficult life in Europe. After its publication, the novel caused many evaluative judgments: from bright, serious, with due piety, to constructively critical, and even, at times, negative. Leonid Tsypkin's prose is focused on the objectification of pressing problems, for this the author actively uses the techniques of intertextuality, allusion, reminiscence. It is worth assuming that the language game for the writer is an opportunity to achieve freedom of thought in the probable assessment of being. L. Tsypkin's short prose is no less dialogic. Within the framework of this article, the analysis of the story “The Holiday That Is Always with Me” is carried out from the standpoint of using the intertext technique. In addition to identifying intertextual traces, the study also assumes the definition of their functional significance. The methods of analyzing the artistic text are reduced to a set of typological, comparative, and structural nature. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that the story “The Holiday That Is Always with Me” has not been adequately studied in a variety of critical sources. Leonid Tsypkin's short prose, in our opinion, is the basis for constructing his large forms; in the mode of a short construction, the author manages to practically work out variants of postmodernist poetics techniques. The material of this article is appropriate to use when studying a number of disciplines in the humanities.
