The article analyzes the methods, techniques and elements of composition, identifies various creative and expressive techniques in the process of creating a plot-thematic painting. Taking into account the traditions of world and domestic fine arts, the experience of painting by masters, the authors explore in theory and practice the methods and formal techniques of creating a composition, artistic stylization of form, coordination of parts of composition elements, use of color, tone, etc. to achieve maximum results in creating a work of art, writing a plot-thematic painting. The article examines some aspects of the laws of composition when writing a painting, it is proved that a creative approach, combined with knowledge of composition construction, is an important factor in writing a painting. The authors emphasize that there are laws of composition, according to which a thematic painting is built. The laws of composition are interconnected, act when working on a painting. Without knowledge of the laws of composition (which are as mandatory as in other branches of culture), a high-quality result is impossible. All of them are aimed at achieving expressiveness and integrity of the work of art. The artist needs to use vivid events, internal motives to create an emotional composition, to be interested in working on characters and situations when writing a picture. Without deep inner experience, it is impossible to create a full-fledged work of art. The scientific novelty of the article is the study and analysis of expressive means of composition, taking into account elements of artistic stylization and the use of various techniques in creating works of modern fine art.
