Current Economic Challenges and Their Implications for Archaeological Heritage Restoration Policies and Preservation Strategies
This article aims to analyze the structural implications of economic fluctuations on archaeological heritage restoration policies, based on the hypothesis that the sustainability of this vital sector has become dependent on fragile global financial contexts. While archaeological heritage represents a fundamental component of civilizational identity, data show that a number of developing countries experienced a decline in heritage budgets following the 2008 global financial crisis, with the situation worsening amid the current stagflation.
