Performance of the L2 DUHA pump laser for high-energy, high-repetition rate OPCPA

We report on the latest performance results of the cryogenically cooled high energy, 20 Hz Yb:YAG multipass amplifier for pumping the OPCPA of the L2 DUHA beamline at the Extreme Light Infrastructure ERIC. We present detailed characteristics of the amplification performance emphasizing the impact of pumping and cooling parameters and the latest performance results of the amplifier’s water-cooled front end delivering 250 mJ pulses at 20 Hz.

Abstract

We report on the latest performance results of the cryogenically cooled high energy, 20 Hz Yb:YAG multipass amplifier for pumping the OPCPA of the L2 DUHA beamline at the Extreme Light Infrastructure ERIC. We present detailed characteristics of the amplification performance emphasizing the impact of pumping and cooling parameters and the latest performance results of the amplifier’s water-cooled front end delivering 250 mJ pulses at 20 Hz.
