Advancing characterization of non-Gaussian beams fluence distributions

This study introduces an enhanced technique for analyzing non-Gaussian laser beams. Our ablation imprints approach, based on the Liu’s method, offers high-resolution characterization of beam fluence distributions, including low-fluence tails often missed by conventional techniques. This innovation significantly improves peak fluence determination accuracy. We demonstrate the method's versatility through two key experiments:
1. A comparative study for a Near infrared laser against far-field imaging.
2. Grazing incidence Laser-Induced Damage Threshold measurement at the European XFEL (1 keV).
These applications highlight the method's effectiveness across different laser types and experimental setups, marking a substantial advancement in laser beam characterization technology.
