Review on synthesis protocols, anti-bacterial and photovoltaic applications of novel Schiff-base metal complexes

Schiff base metal complexes are generally prepared from the various condensation reaction pathways of an amino compound with carbonyl compounds. The green synthesis protocols are also playing significant role in the preparation of metal complexes for the biological applications includes antifungal, antibacterial, antimalarial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antipyretic properties. There are several Schiff base metal complexes also shows good catalytic activity in various reactions and in industrial applications. Various reports showing that Schiff base metal complexes are also having the potential photovoltaic characteristics. The scientific community has paid a lot of attention to Schiff-base metal complexes because of their applications in homogeneous catalysis and heterogeneous catalysis. The catalytic activity can be increased by the complexation, therefore, to understand the properties of both metal and ligand leads to the synthesis of efficient metal complexes. This review emphasizes on the synthesis, biological and photovoltaic applications of organometallic Schiff base complexes. This study is helpful resource for researchers and industry experts in the field of inorganic chemistry since it illustrates the current status of the research and its directions for the future.
