Immersion-type hydrogen charging into a zinc-coated ultra-high-strength steel

The effectiveness of hydrogen charging into a high-strength martensitic steel using an immersion-type method with HCl and NH 4 SCN solutions was evaluated through thermal desorption spectroscopy and tensile testing. Additionally, the dissolution rate of the Zn coating layer during immersion in different solutions was examined by comparing cross-sectional micrographs and electrochemical Zn stripping. The results showed that NH 4 SCN facilitated more effective hydrogen charging into Zn-coated steel specimens than HCl. Moreover, NH 4 SCN delayed the dissolution of the coating layer during immersion, resulting in longer duration compared to HCl.
