Analysis of Poverty Levels and Regional Typologies in West Java
Poverty is a social issue that often arises in economic development. This study aims to analyze the influence of economic growth, minimum wage, and population on poverty in nine cities in West Java Province from 2010 to 2023 and to classify the regions using the Klassen Typology. The data used is secondary data from the West Java Central Statistics Agency, with the panel data regression analysis method using the Fixed Effect model. The research results show that economic growth and the minimum wage significantly impact poor people. In contrast, the population size does not have a significant impact. The Klassen Typology Analysis shows the distribution of cities based on poverty levels, economic growth, minimum wage, and population in various quadrants. From the three Klassen typology analyses, no city falls into Quadrant I. The results of this research are expected to serve as a reference for poverty alleviation policies in West Java.
