The Role of Strategic Resilience and Data-Driven Culture in Enhancing Supply Chain Risk Management: A Resource Orchestration Perspective
This study investigates how internal organizational enablers, strategic resilience and data-driven culture influence supply chain operational continuity, with the mediating role of supply chain risk management capability (SCRM). Supply chain disruption risks to operational continuity in today’s volatile global environment is quite high. Combining Resource Orchestration Theory (ROT), the study defines these enabling factors as strategic and cultural resources that need to be structured effectively and leveraged in order to achieve performance outcomes. A structured survey of the relevant questions was collected from 312 professionals working in manufacturing and distribution firms. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) through SmartPLS 4 was run to test the proposed model. Finally, the findings indicated that strategic resilience and a data-driven culture have a strong positive effect in enhancing SCRM capability, which in turn has a strong positive effect on operational continuity. Furthermore, the mediation analysis showed that SCRM capability is a critical mediator of the relationship between internal capabilities and performance. The results of the article contribute with theoretical insights into how orchestration of intangible resources provides resilience and continuity in supply chains. Practically, the companies are strongly encouraged to spend on digital cultures, strategic agility, and structured risk management systems. Likewise, policymakers and leaders in the supply chain in emerging markets can support capability development through digital infrastructure, training and regulatory guidance. Overall, the research supports the strategy of building proactive, resilient and sustainable supply chains but through capabilities rather than assets and services.
