THE COMPARISON BETWEEN “RUSSIAN NATIONAL STANDARD FOR TEACHING RUSSIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE” AND “CHINESE PROFICIENCY GRADING STANDARDS FOR INTERNATIONAL CHINESE LANGUAGE EDUCATION”
A comparative study of “Russian State Standards for Russian as a Foreign Language” and “Standard for Assessing Chinese Language Proficiency in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language” is reviewed. Based on an overview of the principles and purposes of language standards development, the foreign language proficiency of the two countries are compared and analyzed in terms of their content framework, language skills description and internationalization. The comparative studies have shown that there is an urgent need for the “Chinese Standard” to establish a testing system that can be borrowed from the “Russian Standards”. The paper revealed that “Chinese Standard” is to be improved, and its application in testing will still be developed. The comparative study of standards has shown that it will help the development of international education in China and beyond, besides providing theoretical and practical basis for the international application of “Chinese Standard” and the compilation of relevant test, control and practice tasks.
