VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ENTREPRENEURSHIP VIEWED FROM THE BANGKA MALAY SUB-CULTURE

This study explores the entrepreneurial characteristics of vocational high school students from the Malay ethnic group in Bangka Regency, focusing on four key attributes: achievement motivation, innovation, risk-taking, and independence. A descriptive research design was employed, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 461 students. The study found high levels of entrepreneurial motivation among the students, particularly in the areas of motivation and independence, with the majority demonstrating strong inclinations towards entrepreneurial activities. The data revealed positive correlations between the four variables, suggesting that an increase in one characteristic leads to improvements in the others. These findings align with existing literature on the positive impact of entrepreneurship education in fostering entrepreneurial mindsets. The study recommends targeted support and further development of vocational training programs to enhance students' entrepreneurial skills, thus preparing them for successful careers and fostering greater economic competitiveness within their community.
