EKSPLORASI PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS CHAT: MINAT DAN ADOPSI MAHASISWA GEOGRAFI TERHADAP CHATGPT

This study aims to investigate the interest and adoption of ChatGPT among Geography students in learning. The research method used is descriptive exploratory, with data collected through Google Forms surveys and interviews. The research sample consists of 35 active students from the Department of Geography Education at Hamzanwadi University. The results show that the majority of students demonstrate interest and enthusiasm for using ChatGPT in their learning. Among the 34 respondents, most students have a positive perception of the effectiveness of ChatGPT in their learning, with 11.8% stating it is very effective, 79.4% finding it quite effective, 2.9% considering it less effective, and 5.9% being unsure. They feel assisted by the ease of access to information and the quick responses provided by the ChatGPT platform. However, the adoption of ChatGPT faces challenges such as concerns about dependency on technology, lack of direct human interaction, and worries about user data security and privacy.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui minat dan adopsi mahasiswa Geografi terhadap penggunaan ChatGPT dalam pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi eksploratif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui survei google form dan wawancara. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 34 orang mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidika Geografi Universitas Hamzanwadi yang berstatus aktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa menunjukkan minat dan antusiasme terhadap penggunaan ChatGPT dalam pembelajaran. Dari 34 responden menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas mahasiswa memiliki persepsi positif terhadap efektivitas penggunaan ChatGPT dalam pembelajaran mereka, terlihat pada persepsi mahasiswa tentang efektivitas penggunaan ChatGPT, yang menyatakan sangat efektif 11,8%, cukup efektif 79,4%, kurang efektif 2,9%, tidak tahu 5,9%. Mereka merasa terbantu dengan kemudahan akses informasi dan respons cepat yang diberikan oleh platform ChatGPT. Meskipun demikian, dalam adopsinya dihadapkan pada tantangan kekhawatiran akan ketergantungan pada teknologi, kurangnya interaksi manusia secara langsung, serta kekhawatiran akan keamanan dan privasi data pengguna.
