Eine starke Stimme der Pflege- bedürftigen in Berlin
Following Saarland, which introduced the function of a care commissioner in May 2013, and Bavaria, which established the office of a patient and care commissioner in November 2013, the state of Berlin has also had a care commissioner since June 2024. Although the final appointment has not yet been made, Prof. Dr Sinja H. Meyer-Rötz has temporarily taken over the newly created position, with which the Senate Administration has implemented an important point of its coalition agreement to explicitly appoint a contact person for people in need of care and their relatives. 'This task is a top priority for me and a matter close to my heart,' explains Prof Meyer-Rötz in her first monitoring report (1).
