Study of Effective in Ova Feeding of Folic Acid in Hatchability Traits of Broiler Chicks

This study was conducted in Al-Jaflawi Poultry Company hatchery, Babylon Governorate, Iraq for the period from November 3, 2024 to November 25, 2024. 300 fertilized eggs were used, divided into five groups, each treatment containing 60 eggs, and each group had three replicates, each replicate containing 20 eggs. The experimental groups were F1 without injection, F2 injected with 0.25 ml of distilled water/egg, and groups F3, F4, and F5 injected with 0.25% folic acid solution at a concentration of 2, 4, and 6%/egg. The study results showed a significant increase in hatchability and a decrease in embryonic mortality for the F3, F4, F5 groups. The hatched chick weight of the F5 group also increased significantly. Chick length and the weight of the remaining yolk sac increased in the chicks of F1, F3, F4, F5 groups. However, there was no significant difference between the studied groups in traits of activity traits, the percentage of abnormal chicks, and wing and leg length.
