Main aspects of criminological characterization (analysis) of crime during martial law
The article is a comprehensive and thorough study of the main aspects of criminological characterization (analysis) of crime under martial law. In the current conditions of martial law caused by the military aggression of the Russian Federation (RF), the commission of criminal offenses is increasing, and there are other factors that affect the increase in crime, in particular: unemployment, economic instability, urbanization, significant changes in the standard of living of different social groups and migration of large numbers of people. The author analyzes the main aspects of the criminological characterization (analysis) of crime for the period from 2022 to March 2025. The author also conducted an anonymous online survey of the population aged 20 to 50 years, which reflected the opinions of citizens on the causes of crime and the identification of mechanisms to counteract the commission of criminal offenses. In addition, the author draws attention to the determinants which affect the personality of a criminal when committing an offense. The article examines and analyzes statistical information on the identity of criminals, in particular, the author emphasizes the increase in criminal offenses committed by women. The author also emphasized the methods of crime prevention, namely, the identification of victimization characteristics of potential victims of criminal offenses who may become victims of criminal acts in certain life situations. In particular, the disadvantages of victimization crime prevention are that there is almost no work done to identify persons with a high level of victimization and to organize preventive work with them. Based on the study, the author formulates recommendations, in particular: strengthening of the legislative framework; use of artificial intelligence (its algorithms can predict potential criminal offenses based on analysis); public control (training of the population on crime prevention and counteraction); development of social programs (economic initiatives for internally displaced persons, support for minors). An integrated approach to the implementation of these measures to counteract and prevent crime in wartime will help reduce the commission of offenses by the population of our country.
