Trade Dynamics in the Face of Climate Regulations: A Study of India’s Emission-Intensive Exports to Developed Countries
This paper examines the long-term effects of developed countries’ regulatory policies on emission-intensive (EI) exports from India. The study also checks for the occurrence of structural breaks in the proposed relationship. The results indicate that regulations on domestic industries by developed countries increase EI imports from India. Conversely, trade policy measures such as the imposition of import tariffs reduce imports of EI goods.
