The Itinerary of Becoming Essential and the Reconstruction of Trauma in Corin Braga's Novel Ventrilocul

This article presents a literary analysis of the imaginary universe in Corin Braga's prose work Ventrilocul, with a particular focus on elements of rupture and the ways in which transgenerational traumas can shape the destiny of the characters. I have employed a hermeneutic investigation, appealing, to the extent that it can be adapted, to literary psychoanalysis. This approach has allowed for a detailed examination of the characters' journeys of reconstruction and existential becoming, as well as the mechanisms through which they manage to harmonize their inner states in order to activate the process of integrating opposites. Through the process of individualization, the characters uncover, in the depths of the unconscious, a space of confrontation between past and present, from which multiple layers of trauma emerge. Thus, beyond the artistic imagery, we discover a fascinating universe that foregrounds psycho-ontological dilemmas, identity fractures, and possibilities for reorganizing the reality in which Corin Braga's characters exist.
