Efficacy of different bio-control agents against the root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne javanica in mung bean (Vigna radiata L.)

The root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne javanica) are considered as one of the most destructive pests of mung bean the infected plant with suppressed growth and yield. The bio-agents were used as soil application @ 2.5 kg/ha. Untreated check was also maintained for comparison. The six bio-agents were tested in sick field condition and found Purpureocillium lilacinum was recorded most effective treatment with maximum plant growth characters {shoot length (cm), root length (cm), shoot weight (g), root weight (g), Yield (Qtl. / ha)} and minimum nematode population. The next best treatment was Trichoderma harzianum followed by Pseudomonas fluorescens, Trichoderma viride, Pochonia chlamydosporia and Metarhizium anisopliae.
