Ukraine's foreign economic activity under conditions of full-scale invasion: regional dimension

The presented study aims to investigate the regional features of Ukraine's foreign economic activity, which is extremely relevant in view of the transformational shifts occurring as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war with the foreign economic complex of our state. Using mathematical and statistical analysis methods, we will investigate the dynamics of exports and imports of goods in 2022–2024, analyze the main trends, identifying regional differences and disparities. Using the cartographic method, we will visualize key regions-exporters and importers of goods, as well as regions that have suffered the most significant losses of export potential due to hostilities and temporary occupation. We can observe a general decrease in foreign economic activity, in particular a decrease in export volumes, which led to an increase in the import dependence of regions. The identified increase in imbalances in foreign trade in goods indicates the formation of peculiar centers of foreign economic activity. The current developments reflect not only the losses caused by the war, but also the need for regionally differentiated approaches to post-war economic recovery, which will take into account the peculiarities of specific regions. The data obtained can be used in the formation of post-war recovery strategies with the participation of international partners, in particular within the framework of European support programs.
