DESCRIPTION OF EMOTIVE LEXICON IN RUSSIAN SEMANTIC DICTIONARIES
The article considers the peculiarities of the description of emotive lexicon in the main Russian semantic dictionaries — Russian Semantic Dictionary and lexicographic works by L.G. Babenko. The analysis of the Russian Semantic Dictionary (volume III) allowed us to conclude that there is no unified representation of emotive lexicon in it. It is described here in lexical classes belonging to two different semantic spheres — mental and “emotional proper”. Names of emotions in the dictionary are not specially marked and are not separated from the means of denoting their manifestations. The task of describing the common meaning for the group is not set and not solved. An idea of it is given by simply listing the main words that make up the group. However, the very attempt to collect and classify the nouns belonging to the lexical class “Feelings themselves, emotional states” undoubtedly represents an important step in the description of the Russian emotive lexicon, which is of significance not only for linguists. Further, we discuss the principles of describing emotive lexicon, realized in the works of L.G. Babenko. At the same time, special attention is paid to theoretical provisions put forward in her work Lexical Means of Denoting Emotions in Russian Language, as well as the procedure proposed here. It is noted that this procedure makes it possible to carry out an objective and verifiable grouping of emotive vocabulary that can be correlated with the world of emotions. Then the peculiarities of the description of emotive lexicon in three dictionaries, in which the approach proposed by L.G. Babenko is realized, are considered. In the course of describing these features, the achieved successes are discussed, as well as some problems that, in our opinion, still need to be solved.
