Aesthetic and functional correction of the nose with nasal bone hypoplasia – case description
<ns3:p><b>Introduction:</b> Functional and aesthetic nose correction requires proper planning. Patient examination, visual as well as physical, constitutes an important part of the approach, providing information required to guide the surgical decision-making process.<b>Case report:</b> The article describes the clinical case of a female patient presenting for aesthetic correction of a crooked and droopy nose, along with functional correction of a deviated septum leading to breathing disorders. The diagnostic process and the course of the surgical management of the patient with nasal bone agenesis as detected upon physical examination are discussed in detail. The adopted approach resulted in improved breathing and the expected favorable aesthetic result.<b>Conclusions:</b> The authors believe that in the case of the presented nasal anomaly, very good results were achieved using the presented surgical method. A larger group of patients with a similar anomaly would be required to compare the final results for this method.</ns3:p>
