Educación bibliotecológica en Cuba: veinticinco años de producción científica
Research in library education in Cuba is an area with limited representation within the library and information science knowledge published in mainstream scientific journals. Therefore, the study’s objective was to characterize scientific production on library education in Cuba during the period 1998–2024 using the Scopus database. The study is classified as descriptive with epistemological input. The theoretical methods of analysis-synthesis and historical-logical analysis were used to obtain results. At the empirical level, classic document analysis and the bibliometric method were employed. The techniques used were document review and social network analysis. A thematic concentration on information literacy and postgraduate training processes was identified, with an emphasis on university contexts. The positioning of institutions such as the University of Havana and the Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” Las Villas is notable. The most recurrent collaboration is developed between Cuba and Spain (North-South), which is expected due to the impact of the Doctoral Program in Scientific Documentation and Information University of Granada – University of Havana (DIG-UGR-UH) in the training of the main teaching and research capital of Cuba.
