29 (11B) Factors associated with sport-related concussion recovery in collegiate football players: a CARE consortium study
proposed mSCAT index is the sum of the symptoms of headache, pressure in head, don't feel right, sensitivity to light, dizziness, and sensitivity to noise. The AUC/sensitivity/specificity of SCAT symptom severity index is 0.88/85%/ 76%, whereas mSCAT is 0.94/87%/ 88% (see figure 1).The only concussion exam which adds utility to mSCAT is mVOMS with 0.94/88%/ 92%.The proposed clinical cutoff for mSCAT and mVOMS >= 2. Conclusion These results suggest a mSCAT symptom list should be considered, possibly to 6 questions for an AUC improvement from 0.88 to 0.94, with a 2% improvement in sensitivity, and 12% improvement in specificity.
