6 (19A) A preliminary investigation of potential confounders of heart rate and heart rate variability

purpose of this study was to evaluate the level of agreement between CCPST Ocular Profile scores, and objective measures obtained from occupational therapy (OT) compared to those from physical therapy (PT).Methods Retrospective chart reviews for patients referred to PT and OT following concussion extracted CCPST ocular raw scores and objective clinical measures.A cut-off score of greater than or equal to 3 for Ocular Profile and abnormal visual objective measures beyond the cutoff for concussion injury were used.Statistical analysis included descriptive statistics, McNemar's Test, and Cohen's kappa (k) via SPSS version 28.Results 85 patients were included.Descriptive statistics revealed agreement between ocular CCPST subjective scores and objective clinical findings for PT (72.94%) and OT (82.53%).McNemar's Test and Cohen's kappa revealed no significant agreement between ocular subjective and objective findings for PT, (p =.32, Kappa 0.10).Significant agreement was found for OT (p= 0.01, Kappa 0.27).Conclusions The CCPST Ocular Profile demonstrated strong agreement between patient-reported symptoms and OT functional vision evaluations, compared to PT measures. This may be attributed to the more objective nature of OT oculomotor exams.Reports of ocular dysfunction on the CCPST may warrant referral to functional vision OT, supporting the need for an individualized, interdisciplinary approach to concussion care.
