Fetoscopic Endoluminal Tracheal Occlusion for Severe, Left-sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia: The North American Fetal Therapy Network Fetoscopic Endoluminal Tracheal Occlusion Consortium Experience

( Obstet Gynecol . 2024;143(3):440–448) Congenital diaphragmatic hernia can be treated through minimally invasive methods using fetal intervention. However, the method of fetoscopic endoluminal tracheal occlusion (FETO) has not yet been established as the standard of care for this condition despite successes. The availability of data on the treatment is limited, with the European-based TOTAL trial being the largest trial including this condition. Thus, this study aims to report outcomes of FETO for the treatment of left-sided congenital diaphragmatic hernia, while also comparing these outcomes to similar cases where expectant management was employed.
