The Correlation Between Quality of Recovery and Parturient Outcomes After Cesarean Delivery: A Cohort Study
( Can J Anesth/J Can Anesth . 2024;71(9):1272–1281. doi: 10.1007/s12630-024-02799-x) This multicenter prospective cohort study aimed to explore the correlation between the Obstetric Quality of Recovery (ObsQoR-10) tool at 24 hours, a measure of postpartum recovery, and key maternal outcomes at 7 days postpartum, including breastfeeding efficacy, depressive symptoms, overall health, and pain. The ObsQoR-10 tool, specifically developed for post-cesarean recovery, assesses recovery across ten domains such as pain, mobility, nausea, and the ability to care for the infant and self. Although it has been validated for use after various childbirth methods, its association with postpartum outcomes remains unclear. The study was conducted from December 2021 to May 2023 at 2 hospitals in Singapore, enrolling 222 participants with a singleton pregnancy who underwent elective cesarean delivery and were followed for up to 7 days.
