Dinickel-catalyzed regio- and enantioselective α-alkylation of cyclic ketones with unactivated alkyl halides

The asymmetric α-alkylation of cyclic ketones with unactivated alkyl halides was realized with a unique dinickel catalyst with high regio- and enantioselectivities. It proceeds through an S N 2 displacement of alkyl halides by nickel( i ) enolates.
