Pressure Study on Kagome Metals
Quantum materials display a wide variety of exotic physical phenomena due to the quantum mechanical properties of the electrons and the complex interplay among the charge, spin, orbital, and lattice degrees of freedom. Recent experimental investigations into quantum materials increasingly focus on uncovering new physical phenomena by subjecting these systems to extreme conditions—conditions that are engineered via external control parameters such as pressure and strain. In this article, we discuss the general properties of quantum materials and introduce research results on vanadium-based kagome compounds, which employ pressure as a tuning parameter.
