A Phenomenological Study on the Retirement Preparation Experiences of Pastor’s Wives
This study aimed to analyze the retirement preparation experiences of pastors’ wives and to explore the meaning of those experiences. Eight pastors’ wives between the ages of 56 and 67 who were engaged in independent ministry were selected as participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and participant observation, and analyzed using Giorgi’s phenomenological research method. The results revealed four components—uncertainty, preparation, change, and expectation—which were structured into four stages: recognition, planning, implementation, and adaptation. These findings suggest the necessity of institutional support and provide foundational data for the development of related educational programs.
