The Effects of Parent-Child Relationship Enhancement Group Counseling on Parents' Adult Attachment, Parenting Behavior, and Parenting Efficacy
This study examined the effectiveness of a group counseling program based on attachment theory for parents of elementary school-aged children. Thirty participants attended five weekly sessions. The Adult Attachment Scale, Parenting Behavior Scale, and Parenting Self-Efficacy Scale were used to measure pre- and post-intervention changes. Results showed a significant decrease in anxious attachment, with no significant change in avoidant attachment. Parenting behavior and parenting self-efficacy significantly improved. These findings suggest that the program effectively enhanced parents’ relational awareness and parenting competence. The study supports the applicability of attachment-based group counseling in parent education and intervention.
