The Effects of Structured Interactive Language Intervention on the Communicative Functions and Language Development of Young Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
This study aimed to examine the effects of Structured Interactive Language Intervention on the communicative functions and language development of young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD). The intervention was designed as a customized language program that considered the individual characteristics and needs of a young child. A single-subject research design was employed to verify the effectiveness of the intervention. The findings of the study are as follows: First, the Structured Interactive Language Intervention had a positive impact on the communicative functions of a young child with ASD. Second, the intervention effectively facilitated language development, with a greater increase observed in expressive vocabulary compared to receptive vocabulary. These results suggest that a Structured Interactive Language Intervention can be an effective approach to promoting communication and language abilities in young children with ASD.
