IgG4-related disease with orbital involvement

Abstract This case report details an 87-year-old female patient diagnosed with IgG4-related disease, an immunomediated condition characterized by infiltration of IgG4-positive cells and chronic inflammation. The patient presented with swelling and redness in the right superior temporal region, prompting further investigation that revealed an orbital mass. Imaging studies and biopsy confirmed the presence of an IgG4-positive infiltrate, consistent with IgG4-related disease. Surgical treatment led to significant improvement of symptoms, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis and appropriate therapeutic approach. This case underscores the need to consider IgG4-related disease in the differential diagnosis of orbital lesions and contributes to the understanding of rare manifestations of this condition.
