Pain Assessment of Low-Level Laser Therapy with Clear Aligners for Leveling and Alignment : (A Randomized Clinical Study)

Aim : This study aimed to assess the effects of Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) on the leveling and alignment pain associated with mandibular anterior crowding relieve. Material and Methods: The present study involved 22 female orthodontic patients, aged 16 to 23 years, presenting with mild to moderate mandibular crowding. The participants were randomly assigned to two cohorts: Group I, consisting of eleven patients treated with removable clear aligners, and Group II, comprising eleven Patients treated with detachable clear aligners. in conjunction with low-level laser therapy. Results: The results show Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) Scores dropped greatly in both groups., with greater reduction in the study group after 24 hours and 3 days. No significant difference was found after 4, 6 hours and 7 days. Conclusions: The present results indicate that LLLT, utilizing The existing parameters and protocol, does not affect pain management outcomes at 4, 6 hours and 7 days. However, it did lead to a reduction in pain after 24 hours and on the 3rd day.
