THE COAL CRISIS OF 2024 IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION: CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES

The article analyzes the coal crisis of 2024 in Russia, which has become a major challenge for an industry traditionally occupying an important place in the country's economy. The key factors of the crisis are considered, including the fall in world coal prices, the reduction of exports, structural problems of the industry and the impact of the global energy transition. Special attention is paid to the consequences of the crisis for the economy and energy security of the country, as well as the socio-economic situation of coal-mining regions. Based on the analysis of financial indicators and production data, a set of anti-crisis measures aimed at stabilizing the industry is presented. In conclusion, the necessity of combining short-term support for enterprises with a long-term strategy of adaptation to changing market conditions and environmental requirements is substantiated.
