A ATUAÇÃO DO ENFERMEIRO EM SITUAÇÕES DE AFOGAMENTOS NO ATENDIMENTO PRÉ-HOSPITALAR DE URGÊNCIA

Introduction: Drowning is one of the main causes of accidental death in Brazil and requires rapid and effective interventions to save lives and minimize harm. Objective: To describe the role of nurses in drowning situations in pre-hospital emergency care. Methodology: The research refers to an integrative review, carried out from an analysis of 15 scientific articles, books and guidelines, published between 2014 and 2024 during March/2024 to May/2025. Results: the role of nurses is fundamental in the process of stabilizing and transporting the patient, there are gaps in the continuing education of these professionals, especially regarding training in specific rescue techniques. Conclusion: Strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration among health professionals and implementing specific training programs for the care of drowning victims is essential to improve the quality of pre-hospital care and reduce mortality.
