A review of the terms “consulting” and “consulting activities” is presented. The spectrum of services offered by consulting companies and tasks solved is considered. The main criteria for the successful activities of the consulting company are formulated. The impact of management consulting in the construction sector, contributing to a significant improvement in the quality of building facilities, as well as reducing costs associated with the use of low -quality materials or deviations from technological regulations, is analyzed. Specialized consulting services of the modern construction industry were allocated, classified by functional feature.
