Evaluating the Strategic Development of Value-Added Services at Vietnamese Seaports applying Analytic Hierarchy Process

This study applies the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) methodology to quantify the importance of Value-Added Services (VAS) at Vietnamese seaports. Four main VAS groups were identified through a comprehensive survey conducted with 34 experts from related fields. The AHP analysis results demonstrate that integrated logistics services are rated as the most important (55.52%), followed by trade support and procedural services (28.94%), special cargo handling services (15.53%), and technology and technical support services (8.67%). The Consistency Ratio (CR) values are all below 10%, confirming the reliability of the results. The significant variance among service weights reflects Vietnamese experts' perception of prioritizing the improvement and development of integrated logistics services as the foremost concern.
