PathFinder: A Smart Mobility Solution for the Visually Challenged
Abstract - This project presents a smart stick that helps visually impaired users navigate safely using real-time object detection and audio feedback. It uses the YOLO algorithm to quickly identify obstacles and informs the user through voice alerts. The system addresses challenges like low-light conditions and processing speed, with suggestions for future improvements such as better sensors and advanced detection models. The goal is to offer a reliable, user-friendly tool that enhances mobility and independence. Key Words: Yolo algorithm; Real-time audio feedback; Mobility aid; Computer vision; Obstacle detection; Assistive technology; visually impaired navigation
