Reduction of occupational risk of poisoning of workers during chemical plant protection

Objective. To substantiate possible occupational risks of poisoning of workers during chemical protection of agricultural crops by spraying and measures to prevent them. Methodology. To achieve the goal, a structural analysis of the technological process of spraying agricultural crops was used to identify occupational risks of poisoning of workers, the requirements of regulatory legal acts regulating the processes of pesticides using by spraying, methods of collecting and summarizing information on the development of measures to prevent the harmful effects of pesticides on the health of workers during spraying were analyzed. Results. The features of the occurrence of occupational risks of workers poisoning during spraying of agricultural crops were studied. The results of the research indicate that the level of risk of workers poisoning with pesticides is high, and therefore, to reduce the level of danger, additional protective measures should be used. Additional organizational and technical measures of workers protection against hazards were substantiated, namely, conducting a medical examination every shift, the need to reserve personal protective equipment, and the use of additional equipment for operational control of meteorological conditions. The use of the proposed preventive measures will minimize threats to the health of workers during chemical plant protection by spraying. Scientific novelty. The inconsistency of the requirements of the current regulatory legal acts regulating the processes of spraying agricultural crops and the recommended measures and means of protecting workers with the real production conditions of performing these processes in farms and the impact of changing weather conditions on them during the work shift has been revealed. Possible occupational risks of poisoning of workers during chemical protection of agricultural crops by spraying, which arise as a result of the action of random process factors and changing weather conditions, have been substantiated. Practical value. The use of additional organizational and technical measures of workers protection against the dangers of poisoning during chemical protection of agricultural crops by spraying, which are not provided for by the requirements of current regulatory legal acts, will allow minimizing threats to the health of workers. Keywords: occupational risk, pesticides, spraying, safety measures.
