Single Centre Observational Study to Assess Impact of Non Transplant Treatment Modalities on the Outcomes of Acute Liver Failure
OBJECTIVE: Acute liver failure is a fatal condition, which requires prompt management. Offering CRRT, plasma exchange early in the disease can provide both bridging and therapeutic benefit. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Single centre, Observational study, included 108 patients, admitted to AIG Hospitals with features of acute liver failure between June 2022-November 2024. RESULTS: Nearly 50% of the patients with acute liver failure survived with Non Transplant Treatment modalities. CONCLUSIONS: Orthotopic liver transplant has always been the gold standard treatment of liver failure. However, transplant itself comes with many complications and long-term immunosuppression. These findings may contribute to refining management strategies for ALF and enhancing transplant-free survival outcomes.
