Silver nanoparticles: synthesis and biomedical applications
Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have gained significant attention in recent years due to their unique physical and chemical properties, which make them suitable for a wide range of biomedical applications, including imaging, drug delivery, therapeutic interventions and more. The paper covers various methods of AgNP synthesis, including physical, chemical, and biological methods, along with their advantages and limitations. Additionally, the paper summarises the recent progress in the use of AgNPs for biomedical applications, such as cancer therapy, wound healing, antibacterial and antiviral activities, etc. Finally, the potential toxicity of AgNPs and their regulatory aspects have also been discussed. The review aims to provide an up-to-date understanding of the synthesis and biomedical applications of AgNPs and to encourage further research in this field.
