DOMESTIC TOURISM IN THE RUSSIAN ECONOMY: PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

The article examines an important area of economic activity, such as tourism, which has a number of characteristic features. Tourism is, first of all, working with people and generating income from tourist services provided by tour operators and travel agencies to consumers. Russia has unique natural resources, which is a worthy tourist potential for the development of domestic tourism in the state. There are also many objects of national heritage located on its territory, which develop citizens’ knowledge about their country and its history. Domestic tourism is one of the priority areas of economic activity for development. With its advent, not only has the relationship between the state and its citizens improved, but also the unemployment rate has decreased, as the development of the tourism industry contributes to job creation.
