Digital competence as a component of teacher training for work in the special education system

The purpose of the article is to determine the conditions for the formation of digital competence in higher education students majoring in А6 Special Education, which should improve their educational and corrective activities in their future workplace. To achieve this goal, methods of scientific analysis of literature, study of educational programs, synthesis of obtained data, and personal practical experience were used. The research results indicate that corrective work involves the use of specialized or adapted computer programs. The effectiveness of their application depends on the professional competence of a special educator, the ability to integrate digital technologies into each child's learning system, foster motivation and psychological comfort, promote the development of higher mental functions, improve spatial orientation skills, and enhance the quality of education and children's learning performance. At the same time, the educational programs for training future specialists in special education do not include the formation and development of digital competence aimed at addressing corrective tasks in working with children with special educational needs. The article proposes conditions for the formation of digital competence in higher education students majoring in А6 Special Education, including a comprehensive approach to content design, teaching methods, tools, forms, and individualized learning; the development of educational content and teaching materials for relevant disciplines; the use of digital technologies in organizing laboratory classes, scientific research, and independent student work with a critical evaluation of obtained information; the creation of special pedagogical software that takes into account the specific requirements of special education; and the introduction of an elective course into the educational programs of the relevant specialty, aimed at forming digital competence for professional activities specifically in the field of special education.
