Structural and Electrical Properties of La3+‐Doped Scheelite‐Type Calcium Molybdates: Effect of Doping Concentration

This study investigates how La 3+ doping affects the structural, optical, and electrical properties of calcium molybdate nanomaterials synthesized using the method of solution combustion. The results of X‐ray diffraction validate the tetragonal structure having space group I4 1 /a. Field emission scanning electron microscopy provides detailed insights into the microstructure, and energy dispersive X‐Ray analysis (EDX) analysis confirms the desired compositional distribution. UV–visible spectroscopy reveals a notable decrease in the energy band gap with the increased concentration of La, indicating potential applications in optoelectronic devices. Impedance spectroscopy demonstrates that the charge carriers exhibit non‐Debye type relaxation, affirming the negative temperature coefficient of resistance (NTCR) behavior. Furthermore, the electrical data analysis exhibits that the thermally activated direct current (DC) conductivity follows the Arrhenius equation.
