Psychodermatology

Aim: To understand the pathogenesis and causation of this disease, and to present a practical management approach that all dermatologists can apply in practice.To demystify this disease process and aid in management.Methods and Results: After 35 years of clinical practice and teaching I have accumulated many cases of this disease and have come to understand the pathogenesis and causation for the delusions.as well as a useful management approach.Although many dermatologists find these patients daunting to manage, once these concepts are understood, there is a relatively easy and useful management approach which can help relieve suffering of these patients.I would like to share my insights with colleagues and trainees. Conclusion:The pathogenesis of this disease can be understood.There is a management approach which can help relieve the suffering of these patients and I would like to share this.
